Before you post:

This platform exists to support survivors and protect communities. To keep it safe and legally sound for everyone, please read the following carefully before sharing your story or information about another person.

This website is protected under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. This means the platform itself is not legally liable for content you post. However, you - the poster - are personally responsible for everything you share. This legal protection does not extend to individuals who post false or misleading content.

Truth is your strongest legal protection

Truth is an absolute defense against defamation claims under U.S. law. If what you share is factually accurate and can be supported by evidence, you have a strong legal foundation. To protect yourself:

  • Only share what you personally experienced or what is documented in public court records

  • Use first-person language — "I experienced..." rather than "[Name] is a predator"

  • Reference case numbers, court dockets, or charging documents where available

  • Distinguish clearly between charges (alleged) and convictions (proven)

  • Avoid speculation, exaggeration, or statements you cannot personally verify

What you should and should not post

Encouraged:

  • First-person accounts of your personal experience

  • References to verified public court records and case filings

  • Information that could protect others from harm, shared in good faith

  • Clearly labeled opinions based on disclosed facts

Not permitted:

  • False or unverified accusations presented as established fact

  • Content intended to harass, threaten, or intimidate any individual

  • Private information unrelated to the matter of public safety

  • Content you know to be misleading or exaggerated

Understanding SLAPP suits — know your rights

Accused individuals sometimes file defamation lawsuits not to win, but to silence and financially drain survivors. These are called Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP suits). If you receive a legal threat or demand letter after posting truthful information:

  • Do not retract or apologize under pressure without consulting an attorney

  • Document all communications and preserve your evidence

  • An anti-SLAPP motion can get meritless cases dismissed — often recovering your legal fees

  • Seek legal counsel immediately; many survivor-support organizations offer referrals

Important: This page is informational, not legal advice. Laws vary by state and by the specific facts of each situation. If you are facing legal action or have concerns about your post, please consult a licensed attorney. This platform cannot provide legal representation or guarantee protection from individual lawsuits.

You are not alone

This community exists because silence protects abusers. Speaking your truth - carefully and factually - is an act of courage that can protect others. We take the safety of every person on this platform seriously. If you have questions about how to frame your post, reach out to our support team before posting.
